Mike Pence stirred up controversy over the weekend when he drew boos from the audience over his attendance.
At the end of the performance Brandon Victor Dixon, the actor portraying former Vice President Aaron Burr, made a statement directed at Pence saying “we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.” Pence reportedly listened to the statement in the outside hallway before departing. While the story could have ended there, President-elect Trump never misses an opportunity to make a mountain out of an anthill, blasting out tweets lambasting the supposed disrespect his running mate received. Provoked, #NameAPenceMusical was borne out. Below are the highlights.
